I had to make a baby shower cake and I made a ton of MMF. Now I have left over MMF and would like to use it for my daughter's 5 year old birthday party on November 21st. Does it keep that long? How should I store it if it does? Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say it will definitely keep for a few more weeks. Just be sure to keep it wrapped up very airtight. If it's still a little hard after some kneading when you take it back out, try putting it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it up. That's worked great for me in the past.

IF you have a food saver vacuum sealer, wrap your MMF in plastic wrap, them vacuum as usual...if NOT, double wrap real tight in plastic wrap, place in a glass bowl then plastic wrap the bowl and it will last until then. You may have to microwave it for a few seconds, if it is to hard to knead. HTH icon_smile.gif

I've taken leftover MMF and wrapped it in plastic wrap and put it in a ziplock bag and placed it in the freezer. Though I'd be curious how long it's good for in the freezer.

Thank you everybody, that was helpful. I do have a foodsaver, so I will take advantage and use it. That will save me so much time next week on her cake. My 8 year olds party is this Friday as well. So many November birtdays.

I have some left over MMF from last August that I've wrapped up in plastic wrap and put in a freezer ziplock bag and kept it in the freezer. Does anyone know if it's still good? I won't need it until June.
