Ok everyone, time to pick your creative minds!!!

I've been asked to make cookie favors for my cousins baby shower. It is a couples shower and I believe the theme of the party is Camoflauge. My cousin is a sherrif and both he and his wife are into all things Western--music, clothes, etc. Its a couples shower so I don't want to do anything particularly cutsie, especially since the baby is a boy.

I need help figuring out what to do!!! My aunt was thinking booties with the babies initials on them. I am going to make up some practice cookies tomorrow afternoon and I really want to knock her socks off. I was thinking of little sherriff badges with the baby's initials on them . . . and using luster dust to make the initials and border really stand out. Can you think of anything else???? Maybe cowboy hats??? HELP!!! This is for a really special cousin so I want these to be amazing cookies.

Ok, I'm bumping myself. Also . . . my aunt wants me to use Buttercream on the NFSC. I was thinking of doing MMF on the cookies and embellishing with buttercream . . . but I doubt my aunt will go for it. Anyone recommend a certain recipe of BC for this???

I love icing with MMF. You just take the same cutter and cut the MMF out. You then can use royal to add detail. Corboy hats would be cute! Or a boot!

What about a cowboy boot with the baby's initials so that both parents will feel included. If you use the badge, it kind of makes everything lean towards the dad. Or why not both? I would suggest that you use a glaze icing. I think there is one in the recipes section. I don't do cookies but I think that the boot would be really cute.

moydear 77, I guess great minds think alike. Apparently we were both writing at the same time but I think the boots would be great.

Ok, I think I'm biting off way more than I can chew, but . . .

I really like the idea of a cammo onesie . . .

And I'm really leaning towards cowboy hats and boots with his initials . . .

I only have to make 35 cookies, so I think I will make a batch with buttercream and a batch with antonias icing . . . and then my aunt can pick when she sees them. I'm worried about the buttercream not holding up in the cookie packages the way antonias icing will. I'm going to make an extra tray of cammo onesies to take to the station for my cousin that night to share as well . . . my uncle (his dad--babies grampa) is a sargeant in the same department and both of them work that night after the party . . . this is going to be so much work but so much fun!

DARN CC!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

I was thinking trying this, however, I was wondering if you need to use anything to make the MMF stick to the cookie?

TIA
