I know that a lot of pound cakes are baked in bundt pans. My question is this: Can you make a pound cake in a circle, square, rectagle, pan? Thanks!

Absolutely!! I usually pour my extra pound cake batter into a smaller square, rectangle or round pound..and it turns out fine.

Thanks! I was hoping that would be the answer. Will I need to cook it longer than in a bundt pan?

Sorry, I can't help you with that one. icon_redface.gif I usually just watch it closely and test with a toothpick.

I use pound cake a lot and I usually bake it at 350 for about 30 minutes in my 10 inch pan. Any other size I start with the 30-35 minutes and check it often.
