2 Flavors In The Same Book Cake Pan?

I am wanting to do a book cake (the big one), the person I am making the cake for wants 1/2 one flavor and 1/2 another. Can I do this in the book pan? My thoughts are that if I pour one flavor into one side and the other into the other side...the middle may mix a bit, but over all should be 2 distinct flavors. Is that a correct assumption?
Anytime I am doing 2 flavors in the same pan I prop one end of the pan up with a dish towel under it. Place the batter from one cake in the lowest end. Mix up my other cake and set the pan level and pour the other cake mix into the other side. They will run to meet each other in the middle. There is very little mixing.
Thanks so much that is pretty much what I was thinking. I didn't think about proping up one side though. Thanks very much.
