I am making a carved cake. I will be using a rectangle about 2 inches of cake and 1/2 inch filling. then on top of that I will be placing a 9"round cake, about 3-4 inches cake and 1inch filling....I'm guessing? Anyways, I was wondering should I use dowels to separate the two cakes? I was going to use foam core under the round cake to separate the two. I will be carving it after and covering the whole thing with fondant as if its one cake.
I'm hoping someone will understand what I'm trying to explain, and help me out with the structure!!! icon_biggrin.gif

You could probably get away without it.
