I think I remember seeing a tutorial or a link on here for making fondant roses... the sorta modernish ones, not the same as the roses rose.. does that make sense???

I wish I had bookmarked the page!!! I am doing some classes and we were taught to make these kinds of roses, but OMG the process is soooo long and tedious... I'm sure there must be an easier way.
Can anyone help?? I have tried searching for this topic but am getting no where!!!

Do you mean a ribbon rose? And you dont want a botantically correct rose?
I know that there is a site that has a tutorial on the botantically correct one but not a ribbon one.
Anyone else can help?

There are some pictures I think in the templates gallery that someone has posted showing how to make "Duff-style roses". It looks like you just take 3 discs of fondant, roll them up and cut the roll in half to make 2 roses. My computer is acting up and I can't open the gallery search right now to check but maybe you can. Hope this helps!

Hi LiliS

I have a few different types of roses in my gallery done all different ways. I just did a heap of duff style roses on my daughter Ashley's cake. And they too can be time consuming.

wow, those roses look amazing. yes the ribbon type roses is what I am after. I need them to decorate my mad hatter cake for next weeks class. I have already done my roses as per the class instructions, but I'm not really all that happy with them. I will try to post a pic so you can see how bad they are!!!
