I've been reading posts but sorry, still confused. Does the buttercream dream recipe from this site crust or not? How about the Luscious Buttercream? Thanks so much for any help.

I used the Buttercream Dream frosting last night to frost a cake. I left the cakes out all night and delivered them to work today. People were eating cake first thing this morning and said that the frosting was "creamy" so I don't think it crusts at all.

I use the buttercream dream recipe from here and yes it does crust. I just made a large cake today with it. It is creamy but it does crust so you can use the VIVA method on it. It's great, the only BC recipe I use now.

When I used it, it didn't crust for me...but AgentCakeBaker said to make it crust use less milk. I did and it worked like a charm! thumbs_up.gif

The Luscious Buttercream does crust...it may take a while (up to 30 minutes) or need to go in the fridge to crust.

Not sure about the Buttercream Dream.
