i have to make a cake tomorrow that is fairly large and it needs to be covered in pink fondont. they only had white so i am going to have to color it myself. what is the easiest way to do it so it isn't streaky? i also thought about spraying it with that color spray stuff, would that work?
thank you all so much.

Add gel color and knead, knead, knead until it is all uniform in color. It feels like it will stay marbled but keep keading - it will come out to an even pink color.

I put my fondant in the microwave for about 30 seconds and that makes it easier to knead the color into it. It takes a while to get the color uniform, so be patient icon_smile.gif

That's a good idea about the freezer bag...so your hands don't get all stained! I colored red fondant around halloween and went around with red stained hands for a few days. I got some strange looks! icon_lol.gif

thanks for the advice ladies. i was just going to cover my hands with plastic bags while i kneaded it. so i assume the idea of using the spray color you get at the grocery store after covering the cake isn't a good idea hey?

I'd think plastic gloves would be a lot easier to use, the kneading will go on for a while. I've never used the spray colors. Take a piece of fondant, roll it out, drape it over a bowl and give it a try, you may find it satisfactory.
