Can You Freeze Cake Balls??

Hey, y'all! icon_smile.gif

Can any fellow CC'ers tell me if I can FREEZE cake balls? And for how long they're good??

I've got a pretty good potential order for them for a cabin order, and if they're "freezable," I'd DEFINITELY get the order!!

ALSO: How much do y'all charge for 'em?

I think they could be frozen before they were dipped for sure. I would put them on cookie sheets in a single layer and then transfer them to whatever you ere planning on storing them in. I'm not sure about after they are dipped. I can't help on the pricing.

I've frozen mine before dipping into chocolate and just pull them out as I need them. Works great because it also helps them stay round when dipping. So freeze away!! Can't answer you on the pricing, sorry.

The pricing issue was on another thread. Someone currently charges $6.~ for a box of 10 and $20.~ for a box of 40.~ icon_smile.gif Hope this helps. Also Swiss Colony is selling 18 for $18.95 icon_wink.gif

I freeze before dipping them in chocolate.

As far as pricing, I charge $8 a dozen, $10 in decorative packaging, $15 for 2 dozen, $18 for decorative packaging. For ones with liqueur, I charge $1 a piece. HTH

I've been charging $6/ doz.- maybe I need to raise my prices! They are somewhat time consuming.
I have not had good results freezing chocolate- it gets a funky whitish haze on it.
Prepare the cake balls and freeze them naked. Dip as needed to fill orders.

I make cake pops by inserted a lollipop stick. I also add the curling ribbon on the stick to add to the presentation. I have offered to put them in small cello bags too. I charge $1.50 each when they want the full package. Not bad for scap cake! Oh yes, I don't dip mine. I roll them in powdered sugar.

knoxcop--I'd been wondering the very same thing the last few days, as I have a very large order of "truffles" to fill the end of next month. I'm just freezing them naked right now, but if anyone knows if they will be ok dipped then frozen, please let us know! I'm thinking if they are just rolled in sugar or some other decos, they would probably be fine, but it's the dipped ones that concern me.

I freeze them all the time, fully coated in chocolate. No problems at all. I use the Wilton candy melt chocolate to cover mine. They tend to "sweat" a little when they come out of the freezer so I just put them on a tray or cookie sheet to come to room temp and have never had a problem. Personally, I love them straight out of the freezer best. They don't freeze totally hard or completely through but are super cold and yummy!

I usually freeze "naked cake balls" and dip as needed. I have frozen the dipped ones and they do sweat. I have had them seem sticky on the outside too. Maybe I should have left them alone alittle longer. Nah not a chance!
