I am not the most creative person but my triplets will be four 12/12 and have each requested a different cake. Logan wants a dinosaur cake (T-rex is his favorite), Connor wants a ball cake (football, baseball, etc) and Erin wants a pink cake with pretty flowers. For some reason a stacked cake comes to mind (but I really don't want that much cake) dinosaurs on the bottom tier, balls, and flowers on top (maybe some of those wired spiraly looking flowers). Any other suggestions that will not leave enough cake to feed a small country? It may be more fair to do three small cakes of even size. I am not a great artist so I would really appreciate some help in that department and some inspiration from the experts!

Thanks!
Kim

I love the idea of a 3 tier stacked cake with a different theme for each layer! That way all 3 themes can be tied into one cake.

Depending on how many people you are expecting; I would three small cakes. You could do three 10" rounds. I have twin nephews who are 12; they have always had to share a cake. When they turn 13; they want different cakes. Seperate cakes might make it feel like more of an individual thing to them or that might not be an issue yet. either way, good luck.

Wow! That's a tall order. I have a cake in my photos that I thought of....it's a girly sports cake. It's pink and striped and has balls on it. You could use the idea of that cake except change the bottom tier to dinosaurs and add flowers to the top tier. It was only a 8" and a 6" with half of the ball pan on top. We didn't have a ton of cake left over and it was for a family party. Hope this gives you some ideas!

You could even do three 6" cakes. Ball pan, maybe.... 1/2 the ball pan could also be the body of a dinosaur.... and it could also be a grassy hill with flowers on it. Just some ideas. they would be relative easy... even for the dino one you could make the ball pan a volcano with dino figures around the bottom? You have my wheels turning!
i like the idea of three separate cakes, my sister and i are a day apart(plus 3 years) and we always insisted on separate cakes....

HTH!

Doug, I love your quote! I think I will use that if you don't mind! What do you all think of a Brachiasaurus modeled around a small three layer cake, 2nd layer has balls all over it or a square layer with a ball diamond around it, 3rd layer is pink but the dino head (wearing a baseball cap) is munching on the flowers. Am I in over my head here?

I would do 3 little cakes ... I have 2 1/2 yr. old twins (boy/girl) and IMO, they are completely different people and need to have something that is just for them on their birthday - which of course they have to share with someone else forever!

If you have the time and it's not too much cake, do 3-6" cakes that are personalized to what they want. I know that it's alot of work especially close to the holidays, but I'm sure that they would really appreciate having their own cakes and being able to blow out the candles seperately.

Good Luck and happy birthday to them!

I would do 3 separate cake, just my opinion. I have twin nephew and they different thing so they alway had their own cake to feel special. They don't have to be huge even 3 8 inch would be fine. Then it might not be so tough to incorporate those very different ideas into one. JMHO.
