I have an order for a University of Michigan cake. The guy wants the cake to be shaped like a "M" . He would also like it filled. I have only been cake decorating for a short time and need all the help I can get.

I would make and fill a sheet cake then carve the M out from there and frost. Just make sure your sheet is big enough for the M, and I'm sure your family won't mind the leftovers!

This should be fairly easy with the last post suggestions. I'm a U of M fan and the most important thing would be the shape and the colors. Is this for the U of M / Ohio game? If so, then you HAVE to incorporate the rivalry! But since you're new, go with the "M" and you can always purchase a football helmet to add on top. Good luck!
