I have an order for a child's birthday cake, He wants a shet cake with the Roman Empire Theme. I am thinking of using the Roman Numerals twelve ( he will be 12) somehow but am stumped on what else to do, ya'll have always been such great inspiration! Thanks in advance.
Ohhh . . . do a colosseum cake! I don't know how big your cake needs to be or how many it needs to serve but you could do this with a big round cake (10" or 12"). If you make it nice and tall this would look great.
Here's the link to what I'm thinking of:

If they want a sheet cake, my first thought was a map of the Roman Empire-easy enough to find on the web. Another possibility is a picture of a roman temple http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~mthoreso/photo_gallery/Miscellany/slides/Roman%2520Temple.jpg&imgrefurl=http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~mthoreso/photo_gallery/Miscellany/slides/Roman%2520Temple.html&h=399&w=600&sz=52&tbnid=tFiDge0cXHWFsM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Droman%2Btemple%26um%3D1&start=1&sa=X&oi=images&ct=image&cd=1or copy a mosaic like the 'Cave Canem' (beware the dog) one. http://penelope.uchicago.edu/~grout/encyclopaedia_romana/miscellanea/canes/molossian.html
