I have a choc grooms cake to make with choc. buttercream and then ganache poured over so it is dripping down the sides.
My question is does this need to be refrigerated?
The mother of the groom will be taking it to the rehersal dinner and it will not be until the next day because of it being out of town and she will have to place to refrigerate it.
will it be ok

it should be okay for a day or two out of the fridge. Just keep in as cool a room as possible.

I would refrigerate for as long as you can before it's time for her to take. But it will be okay either way.

Thanks so much for the help
I had the same idea to refrigerate before she left but sometimes it is just good to hear (or read in this case) it from someone else.

Thanks

I am curious as to what flavor cake you are using your ganache on? i am making a cake for a family dinner at my house this week and am going to try ganache for the 1st time. I was wondering if it is best on a chocolate, yellow, or white cake. Also, do you have to use buttercream under the ganache or can you just pour the ganache right over the cake?

I am using choc. cake.
And yes it can be poured over the cake as the icing.

Hope it turns out well.
I think it would taste great on any flavor you choose just what ever you like better
