If I wanted to make a dice cake, I think I would probably use a regular 1/2 sheet or rectangular/square sized cake or 2 of them & just cut them into perfect squares the size the dice should be & then stack them w/ filling to the height that I want them & then cover/frost as usual. I'm sure there is a easier way... but that is how I would do it. Hope that helps, sounds like a cute cake! ![]()
If you have the long loaf it makes perfect little cubes when cut into pieces. I used it to make dice for a bunko cake.
I have done a dice cake two different ways. First, I cut the dice out of a sheet cake. I made sure I used a dense cake for easier cutting. Second, I bought some little debbie square snack cakes and put two of them together. I frosted them to look like dice. That was really easy! Here are some pics. ![]()

Well The dice cake was not a great success. It looked beautiful when I first finished it. But the 100+++ heat here is killing my cakes. The icing was nice and smooth when I went to bed. When I woke up in the morning The Chocolate wafer dots were melted and had slipped down the cake and the frosting was well lacking in many aspects. I fixed it as much as I could, I had to deliver it before it got even hotter. THe people absolutly loved. I guess thats what counts.
Thanks for all the help. I want to try it again when it cools off. ![]()
I think they look great! I have to put my cakes in the icebox because it is too hot and humid where I live. I keep them there until I deliver or the customer comes to get them. You might try that for your next order! Good presentation of the dice! ![]()
