This might sound a little silly to some of you and once I get the answer I will probably say DUH! to myself because it is probably so simeple to do.

Here it is: How do I attach ribbon around the cake, specifically the ends without making it look unfinished.

You can stick it or attach it with a dab of royal icing or i think even a dab of buttercream. I've read where people use a straight pin, with the large ball heads, but I don't like anything small and sharp near food

Thanks, Pascal. That was what I was thinking, but I thought there might be a magic trick to it. I also thought about a pin, but I worry about small kids and adults swallowing it. If it could happen it would happen to me.

i asked this question a while back and someone suggested using double sided tape. also don't forget to put some wax paper between your cake and your ribbon. it can bleed even with fondant. i learned that the hard way!

I never thought about the wax paper. The cake will be in butter cream so it will probably bleed. I am thinking fondant swags (never made those before) I gotta do it sooner or later so why not sooner!
