Hi! I am new here and wanting to get as much info as possible before making my first cake for my class....is it best to bake the cake the day before and put it in the fridge or freezer? If so, when you go to decorate it, do you let it thaw or do you just icing it right out of the freezer or fridge? I guess I am just trying to figure out when I should bake the cake, where I should put it, and how long after should I wait to icing it...thanks so much for you help!

I always baked my cakes the day of the class. If you decide to bake it the day before I'd say just cover it, you shouldn't have to refrigerate it. Cakes can be frozen if covered in saran wrap tightly. Just remember to leave the saran wrap on while defrosting, so the condensation is on the outside of the cake.
