how can I make sugar sticks? Wavy or straight I've heard of piping them but how~I know nothing about sugar. Can you color them?

I do spirals. Basically you can just heat the sugar and wait til it coold a bit. Take a fork dip and drag across a Silpat. Piping sugar can be quite dangerous and I do it very rarely!
