I just made an 11x14 inch sheet cake...maybe I didn't let it cool long enough before I tried to take it out of the pan because when I did it fell apart! I just took my second sheet cake out of the oven and am letting it cool, I guess I need to know how long should it cool? I am soooo tired and want to go to bed and since my first cake fell apart I have to make another cake in the morning! UGH!! HELP!

I usually let mine cool for about 15 mins. Do you have a rack that is large enough to turn the cake out onto?

I do. I am guessing that after 15 minutes I should turn it over...not now....right?

Ditto on the 15 minutes and sometimes 20. Depends on how thick the cake is. If you don't have a rack to turn the cake onto, which I don't. I use a large cutting board. The one I have is the perfect size to do it.

On your cake that you make in the morning place some parchment paper in the bottom of your greased pan. No need to butter the parchment. Just the pan. The parchment will help hold the cake together til you frost it. Peel off the paper first before you frost it though.
