Hi,

I have read that you should wait 24hrs after you cover your cakes in fondant to decorate. I have been baking on day, then decorating another day. Is it necessary to wait a day to decorate after you cover your cake for best results?

I think people wait a day to cover the cake with fondant, not to decorate. People fill and crumb coat the cake, then let it settle for 24 hours to avoid a bulge where the layers meet. then they cover it with fondant.
