How do you deliver a cake really tall. Like a doll or mountain cake.
I'm planning on making a mountain cake out of a wonder mold. Where can I find a box for this type of cake?

Another question. The cake has to be for around 20 people. I know wonder mold serves 10 to 12 people. Is it gonna be enough just putting an 8in. layer (2 in. tall) under it?
Please let me know.

Thanks.

You could get a shipping box from a moving store; that should be tall enough. as for the servings, I'm not sure. I've never used the wonder mold. Here's a bump!

I would go with a little larger round under it just to be on the safe side maybe a 10 or 12" round instead of an 8"

I made a volcano this past summer and the wonder mold just wasn't going to be enough cake so I made 2-10 inch, 2-8 inch, and 2-6 inch and trimed them into the mountain shape It didn't have to be perfect since its a mountain. It made it perfect to feed about 25 people!!! Look at my pictures and you will see the volcano.

If I put a larger one under the mountain, should I dowel it? or I could just put it on top? Should I fill the one under or just the 2in. tall layer and that is it?

I would definitely dowel it and put a cake board under the Wonder Mold cake, and if you will be transporting it stacked, you should also run a long dowel through the entire cake, top to bottom.

What do you mean by "should I fill the one under, or just the 2 in tall layer"?
