I want to try this.I went to the tutorial on this site.I am confused how in step 6 they are filling it in.Then it looks like it was turned over to smooth to get into the grooves.Won't it stick to what ever it is turned onto? What am I missing? Thanks so much

What I do is just pipe over the whole picture with white icing and then I lay a piece of parchment down on it and smooth the whole thing. I press down as much as I can with out it smooshing out the sides - I think it is just to make sure all the holes get filled in. Good luck!

Parchment, that's a good idea. I have trouble with visible lines once it's on the cake. I try smoothing them out with a Viva paper towel or the paint roller, but that soft icing sticks. I'll try parchment paper next time!

Thanks Girls! So I don't turn it over onto the icing? I just fill in the picture then use the Parchement paper to gently smooth over? Is that right?

Yeah, and then put it in the freezer for a couple hours, or overnight - then when you are ready, turn in over onto your cake icon_smile.gif

ok the weirdest thing.I was just asking about this today because I wanted to practice and I just got a call from my bf who need a motorcycle to go on a cupcake cake.I was reading over Amy's answer and I am confused again.

So after I get the picture done.I flip it over and apply the white icing to the back of it? How do you do that if its on the wax paper. You don't put the icing on top of the transfer.I'm so sorry .I'm just confused.

pardon my ignorance, but what is fbct? Sorry, I'm a newbie. I'm assuming it is a type of butter cream icing? Thanks icon_redface.gif

Frozen Butter Cream Transfer

I've tried it once, not to excited to try it again, but others do it very well.

You need to ice it all over and freeze it before flipping it - i.e. the side that is on the parchment paper will be the top of your FBCT once you have flipped it onto your cake. I was also a little confused - what I realised is that you are making the picture from the front to the back and the all over icing is the base. Hope this makes sense and helps you. Its great fun once you get the hang of it! icon_smile.gif
