I've read somewhere -here- that adding candy melts to MMF helps make it more workable.
How much do you add?
When do you add it?
Does it have to be cooled?
How does it affect the MMF- stronger, less stretchy, fewer cracks, shinier,...?

sorry, not a clue...but why don't you try making a small test batch with the small recipe? I would probably add the candy melts to the marshmallow mixture right out of the microwave and stir until melted. You could nuke it a bit more if you had to (or add it melted), then just add powdered sugar until you get the right consistency...

I don't know about putting candy melts in MMF, but some gumpaste will make it more flexible and dry faster.

Did you a try a search, you might get some results there. I just don't remember reading about using candy melts like that. Janice

Thanks for the suggestion Janice!
I did a search of threads and of recipes and found that to the recipe with 16 oz. Marshmallows you can add 2 oz. candy melts. The comments in the threads mentioned taste, but no mention of a texture change. I think I'll have to make a batch soon and experiment. I'll let everyone know what I find out. Thanks for all the support! icon_smile.gif
