I have such a hard time with these... I use royal icing for doing all my flowers because it's a lot more stable once it dries than BC... anyways, I made a whole bunch of tip 17 drop flowers to put on a cake... does anyone have any advice for taking them OFF the wax paper and putting them on the cake without having them fall apart? they're just so tiny I'm scared I'm going to have issues... thanks!
Make sure they are dry--very dry. You may have to kinda hold the paper and and kinda bend the paper a bit to get them to start coming off. They always stuck to wax paper for me--maybe the humidity here. I only use parchment now. I gave up on a bunch and set them aside and then later they come off so maybe they feel done but maybe really the inside is still a bit soft.
I don't know if this makes any sense whatsoever, but goodluck--I love drop flowers!
did you make drop 'star' flowers using tip 17? if you say the petals are falling apart thats becuase they are not touching each other enough to hold together. tip 17 is pretty small. you would be better off using tip 224, 225 and do a swirl drop flower where every petal touches the next, the large tip 2D also works great.
They do not stick for me when I use parchment paper.

I'm making a garden cake and the flowers have to be small, they actually said in the book to use a tip 14 but I upped it because the 14's were WAY too tiny... I tried to take one off and so far it worked... we'll see tomorrow when I make the cake how it all comes off
I made about 200 because I actually need 100 so hopefully I'll have enough to make up for the ones that break!
