Cake Balls

Hi!
I was thinking of making cake balls. I was going to just crumble some plain white cake and add confectioners sugar and kahlua to it and then dip it in cholcolate.
How do i melt the chocolate and how much do youll think i will need?
do youll think i should dip it in dark chocolate instead?
should i add cocoa to the cake balls in addition to the sugar and the kahlua?
do youll think a different cake flavour would be better?
ive never made cake balls before and i cant decide what combinations would be best.
