ok I need some love. This cake was really pretty that is until I put it in the 9,000 degree reception hall. They placed the cake table right next to the window with the sun beating it. From the time I placed the cake on the table went out to the car to get my kit and came back...this is what happened.
Please tell me it's not that bad icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif I already called and left the bride a message to call me to talk about a partial refund. icon_sad.gificon_cry.gificon_sad.gificon_cry.gif

It doesn't look that bad. At least the cake didn't peak through. icon_cry.gif I've had two of those! Love the colors and the design. Flavors sound yummy too!

IT'S NOT THAT BAD!!!!!

After all, anyone in NH today was melting, so I'm sure they (B&G&Family) understand. I was in Littleton car shopping this morning, and the heat and sun was OMG awful.

It's not that bad. What is it with reception halls, they always seem to be trying to save on the electric bill by not running the AC icon_cry.gif . Anyway, all that matters is if the B & G were OK with it. And the way I see it, if you are offering a partial refund, they can't ask for much more. I spent 2 weeks on a wedding cake which turned out to be a gift, because after my mishap, I couldn't bear to charge them anything. So when all is said and done, I think everybody will be happy in the end.

You're bride needs to contact the hall about compensation. Thats ridiculous that they didnt have the AC on yet.

The bride called me back but I wasn't here. Hubbs took the call apparently she saidsomething like...I don't know what she (me) was talking about, the cake was beautiful, it wasn't her fault the reception hall was so hot. Anyway I will not accept any kind of refund further more it was sooo yummy, she (me) really has a speical touch becasue we were eating that cake until 2 in the morning.

Glad it worked out.

And for future reference..... YOU wouldn't have owed her a penny.... that's something she needs to take up with the venue.

At least your cake stayed in one piece. It doesn't look bad, and apparently the taste knocked their socks off icon_lol.gif To me that equals success. I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago. It was hot, and the cake table was in front of two adjacent windows with the sun beating down. I had to patch the cake several times. The manager was clueless as to why we were frustrated or requested something to cover the window. icon_rolleyes.gif There are some things that are just out of our control. I'm glad it worked out for you in the end.
