Hi Please excuse my ingnorance but i am new to this site and am from australia can you please tell me what crisco is?

had a look on the Wikopedia link I sent to you but it wasn't all that clear...it is an all vegetable shortening but I think you could substitute butter for it...it is completely pure white so buttercream icing (BC) turns out white, not cream..
It is cheaper than butter but you couldn't eat it like butter..no taste really...
I use 1/2 butter, 1/2 Crisco in my buttercream but there are other types of BC that are very good and don't use it ...

you can buy Crisco in Australia....at a really shady Adult shop in Kings Cross Sydney!! mmmm not what is it used for lol... I use Copha
