I have been asked to make a bridal shower cake for two girls at work (same day same time same party) ok my question is do I make two separate cakes or do I make one big cake or I was thinking of maybe making one tier cake and then making two heart cakes with each girls name on it or two bride doll cakes for each girl and one big cake (about 70 people will attend this event)
If anyone has any ideas Im open to suggestions HELP

Do two seperate cakes. If you want to do tier do 6" & 10" which serves 40 party slices (1.5"x2") for each cake.
I did two recently for a double baby shower so they each had their own since they had to share a shower. I haven't posted them yet but they were jungle themed and since both babies were girls I did purple flowers on one and pink on the other to make them a little different.
I would go with what you are thinking, one large cake to feed everyone, and something individual for each of the brides to make it more personal, you could go with the bride doll cakes, the hearts, wedding bells, or how about a small bridal bouquet for each using the colors of their respective weddings, hope this helps.
I would absolutely do two cakes. My thought is that each bride should feel that she is special with her own cake. They can each represent the bride's favorite color or flower and wouldn't be that much harder than making one big cake....especially if they are compensating you for it!
I'd go with one big cake and a mini cake for each bride. If you make two big separate cakes then people with feel obligated to try each cake!
Maybe a mini stacked cake for each bride. Cupcake size for the top and a 4" on the bottom. This way you get to do some fancy work with those.

No they won't as long as you don't pull the "do you want a piece of Sue's cake or of Jane's." What we did at the baby shower is ask people what flavor they wanted because all the tiers were different and NO ONE was saying that they had to have a piece of each person's cake, even my batty great aunt.
I love the idea of two separate cakes, each done in the color theme of the upcoming weddings. I agree, make each girl feel special! You could use flower accents using the flowers they plan for their weddings. Each unique and beautiful! Especially since they're already sharing a shower hehe.
