Hello,
I seldom sell or make cakes for people since I live in CALIFORNIA and I do not have a commercial kitchen. My co-worker twisted (literally) my arm, to make her a Baby Shower cake. Sorry no photo since it was cloudy that day, could not take a photo. According to her she is willing to
"donate" towards the cake, so not to say the word "pay".. I made her an
8 inch cake with all fondant decoration. She and her sister (pregnant one) were soooo happy with the cake. She said they took more photos of the cake at the shower more than anything else. She gave me $50.00, when all I asked was 25.00 "donation:..
I'm happy because I don't get paid for my cakes. I give them away as gifts. I'm just excited.
So this is how it feels to be paid doing cakes.
just want to share my excitement.
I understand what you are sayng. Congrats on your tip. I have had only one tip my self. And was very pleased to say the least.
That is awesome. Doesn't it just make you feel soooooo good. I hear ya, about the donation or as I call it a tip. You must have done a terrific job on that cake.
It is so nice when people appreciate your work. I sure do.
I totally agree! It's nice to be appreciated! Congrats on your work!
I just recently made a Sleeping Beauty cake (in photos) for a friends' daughter's b-day. I just asked her to cover the cost of the ingredients (about $20), but she said "if I went to a bakery, I would've paid $90 for this cake!). She gave me $60. How nice ![]()

yeah I know how you feel
I'm in Michigan, and can only receive 'donations'
for my cakes. I usually am always making them as gifts though, anyway. Cngrats, Prettycake!
