I've been thinking about getting the Wilton tree kit for a couple years and I was wondering if anyone had it and had an opinion on it.
I don't really want it to decorate myself, I was thinking it looked like fun for kids to do. I'd really like opinions from people who've done them with children, we've done cookie houses and I want something a little different.
Thanks

My cookie tree kit is really, really old, like 20 years old, and I doubt it's Wilton's but is pretty much the same. They're a blast to do, I think. When I was first married, I guess it was our second Christmas together and we had zero money, we gave those as gifts.

You can drizzle the cookies with royal icing or pipe on buttercream, and add dragees and pearls and even make fondant ornaments. I think this would be a terrific thing to let kids do.

Thanks, I'm kind of tired of making gingerbread houses every year with the kids.

Are you talking about the cookie trees made from grauated star cookies?

I tried them last year as gifts and ended up with 10 orders(& that was from just 2 gifts to start out with!).

I did the ol' mmf on a hot cookie trick, then used royal to "glue" them together. Added red hots and sprinkles to them.

Great fun creating and everyone loved them. I think the mmf really helped to keep the cookies fresh since many people won't dive right into eating the cookies, they will want to display them(some for up to 3w believe it or not!)

I got mine off eBay last year. Haven't made one yet but plan to this holiday season. Mine is really old though, looks like it is 15 years old or so.
