Hello,
I am looking for guidance on an easy poker themed cake. I looked thru the gallery and totally overwhelmed. I've never used fondant before. Any help would be great appreciated!!! icon_smile.gif [/quote]

I'm a beginner, too. A girlfriend of mine (also beginner) recently made a round cake that was in the deisgn of a large poker chip, which she decorated in buttercream with stars. Red all the way around the edges with white vertical stripes, a white center, and the lettering in the middle was black. Time consuming, but not hard at all.

My poker cake was about as easy as it gets. I did it last minute for my husband's poker game with the guys. Round cake, just iced in white buttercream. I used poker shaped sprinkles on the bottom. On top I made cards and poker chips out of the Wilton pre-made gumpaste (just use a real card as your template and once dry, use a food color maker to draw in the details). But, to make it even easier, you could just put real cards and chips on top too (just make sure they're new and clean).
