I have a recipe for a chocolate cake mix that you make mint chocolate flavored by subbing in creme de menthe for part of the water in the mix. then you layer the cake with mint chocolate chip ice cream!

I have two Questions:

1. I don't like alcohol-y desserts like rum balls, tiramisu...will using liquor in the mix have this effect or will the baking it just leave the mint flavor

2. if it will taste 'alcohol-y', is there another way to doctor a chocolate cake mix to make it minty?
