im not an expert on CC rules, but yes you can post the link. what they don't want is posting other peoples pictures since we don't own the copyright. but anyone can post a link to any website.

I'm pretty sure you can post it here. I've seen lots of links for other websites, as long as you give credit where credit is due.

ok, thanks. below is the link. i need to make a smash cake for a 1 year old. i seen this and thought it was very cute. i was going to use the mini wonder mold for the middle, and "attempt" the butterfly icon_rolleyes.gif... what did they use, and how did they make the petal for the flower?

The petals, to me, look like thin pieces of fondant shaped that way and dried to keep the shape. As for the butterfly-I'm not sure what was used-maybe someone else can help??

its made with a leaf template and the dried over a cardboard tube covered in wax wrap. The petals are made from pastilage.

I have the book with the instructions, pm me if you need any more help

It is very pretty. I have never tried gumpaste, but I am going to take a class in October for it-as long as she doesn't change it again icon_confused.gif There are probably some articles on gumpaste here on CC-just look around and you might find what you are looking for!!

If you played with play dough when you were a kid you can use fondant and gumpaste. Just roll it out on a cut with cookie cutters and let dry.

My first thought was that the petals were white pringles potato chips icon_lol.gif

i wished the offered classes around here to do things like that icon_cry.gif goodluck with yours, hopefully she will not change it.

riana- you have the book? does it offer alot of interesting and neat ideas in it? the lady site with her cake were amazing!

vrm- YOU GAVE ME AN IDEA!!! maybe i CAN just use the pringles. it is for a small smash cake and i think the would be the perfect size! and that would be alot easier! so they sell pringles like that? (its for a close friend, for a small party- so using chips wouldnt be anything weird if it worked icon_razz.gif )

icon_biggrin.gif Hey jjbrink... Go to the grocery store or candy store and get some of those candy SWOOPS. I have a picture of some on top of a cake I made they come in different flavors like resees and some others too. they will work just fine just like those flower petals on that cake. I'll try to attach if not it is the white cake with green borders and chocolate on top.http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_549893.html

mommicakes idea is even better... the swoops are shaped the same as pringles and are chocolate...you wouldn't have to worry about removing them before the baby smashed the cake.

do they have a flavor just covered in white chocolate. if not i could always re-dip them.

Yes they have several different flavors, resees, peppomint pattie, and I think just plain chocolate.
