Yes, you can use to much cornstarch, it will make it dry and yes it will crack. Try mixing in a small amount of crisco. I never use that stuff, I hate it too and it does not taste very well. I always use Satin Ice. I buy it from www.intotheoven.com. Shipping takes about 2 days.
