Hi Guys! I am thinking of posting a website to begin showing my cakes and other products in hopes of generating orders. I would still be networking through family and friends only for now...hoping to go the licensing route next year. I noticed that a few members have sites...are you licensed? I am considering posting the site and not mentioning anything about ordering on the site...just a place to direct folks to view my products and discuss orders via telephone. This way...I am not technically promoting accepting cash for cakes??? Good idea? ...or should I wait til licensed?

I would worry about not being licensed and promoting your business this way. There are some people who might turn you in just out of spite, and depending on your state laws, the consequences could be nasty. It's a bummer, but that's reality.

A website can be very 'anonymous' !! I use a freewebs.com site. It has my cake & cookie pictures, but no pricing. I only list my email address, no phone number.

I give the website address out to family / friends and it's on my card that I leave with delivered cakes. I think it's a great, free way to let interested people see my work. icon_smile.gif
