Ok, we usually have Thanksgiving in New York with my husband's family (huge feast)! But we are staying in TX this year and the only family around us is my brother's family, so it's not going to be so big this year, but here it goes:

turkey
gravy
mashed potatoes
green bean casserole
mac and cheese
stuffing
pumpkin pie
chocolate cream pie

DANG, TIFFTURTLE!!

Your dinner sounds soooo good. I'm not too far from NC, either! icon_twisted.gif

This year, it's just us and one other guest and her son. Most likely. So, I'll be doing:

Turkey
Sweet potato casserole (the old Southern standby. the fluffy kind with pineapple, spices, marshmallow. i could eat it all year)
Green bean casserole (again--the old favorite)
Cornbread dressing with nuts and apples
Fruit salad with pink sauce
Tea w/lemons & limes
Assorted mixed drinks (believe me--I'll need one that day!)
Cheesecake
Pumpkin pie

TUMS!!

My mom does most of the cooking except for about 6 or 7 items and will not have it any other way!! Fried Turkey
Homeade Stuffing
Lima Beans
Cranberry Sauce
Collard Greens
Baked Mac/Cheese
Black Eyed Peas
Candied Sweet Potatoes
Sweet Potato Casserole
Corn Casserole
Black Eyed Peas
String Bean Casserole
Broccoli Cheese Casserole
Yeast Rolls/Corn Bread
Sweet Potato Pies
Pecan Pies
Sweet Potato/ Turtle Cheesecakes
Carrot cake
Chocolate Cake

well, we finally got ours together--here it is:

Smoked Turkey
Dressing
Ham
Sweet Potato Crunch
Ham Pie
Ham, Potato & Cheese Casserole
Chicken N' Dumplings
Green Beans
Mexican Cornbread
Baked Mac & Cheese
Acre Peas
Fruit Salad
Cranberry Sauce
Cherry Cake Roll
Dirt Cake
Pecan Pie
Lemon Pie
Chocolate Delight
Rolls
Tea
Lemonade
Coffee

this menu is from my DH side of the family--my side has theirs at the same time, so i rudely rush out the door & drive very quickly to the farm, so i can see my family (thanksgiving is the only time of the year that my Mema's (my grandmother) brothers & sisters & all of their kids get together (& my Mema's has 5 siblings & 1 of those had 6 kids--so it's a big get together)

Baked Ham
Stuffing
Hog Jowels (Yum!)
Pot. Salad
Yams
Cranberry Sauce (Yuck!)
Greens (Yuck!)
Green Bean Casserole
Deviled Eggs
Mac & Cheese
Corn
Homade Biscuits
Gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Choc. Pies
Pumpkin Pies
Sweet Potatoe Pies

And Im sure there will be more food there. Our list isnt finalized as of yet, lol.

IF ANYONE IS FRYING A TURKEY THIS YEAR PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL THE OIL DOES NOT BOIL OVER THE TOP OF THE COOKER! THESE FRYERS ARE VERY DANGEROUS, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Pretty standard menu here. I only have about 15 coming this year usually have about 20ish. By the way when I read the 1st post for pink stuff I thought huh, wonder if thats the cottage cheese pink stuff. Funny, our family has called it that forever.

olive tray
deviled eggs
Turkey (trying it with herb-butter this year)
2 turkey breasts
Garlic mashed potatoes
Yams w/marshmallows & side of pineapple/pecan sauce
gravy
green bean cassarole
broccoli cassarole
corn balls (maybe)
stuffing
rolls
cranberry sauce
pies, pumpkin, blueberry, chocolate and maybe a banana
gooey pumpkin cake

Theres usually more but I'm almost ready to pop with daughter#2 so this'll have to do.

Here's our menu:

Turkey
Stuffing
Gravy
Green Bean Casserole (it's just not Thanksgiving w/o it)
Mashed Potatoes
Mac and Cheese
Corn
Dinner Rolls
Deviled Eggs
Stuffed Celery
Carrots and Dip
Pumpkin Pie w/ whipped cream
Hot Apple Pie w/ ice cream (mmmmmm)
Chocolate Dipped Chocolate Chip Cookies (my BIL's favorite)

I think that's it. We have a pretty tradtional Thanksgiving. My DH will be so happy this year since I couldn't make it last year for him. I was pregnant and was put on bedrest so we got one of those store made dinners. It was horrible. We will never do that again.

JUST found out today what I get to make! Talk about last minute...

They (fiance's family) are having:
turkey
ham
mashed potatoes and gravy
sweet potatoes
devilled eggs
apple pie
pumpkin pie

I am bringing:
veggie tray
cheese and crackers
baked corn casserole aka scalloped corn
cake

Need to figure out one more side dish, but havent so far! Half of them won't touch veggies, half love em. Maybe a taco salad? That's his vote.
