Has anyone ever used the candy melts for cookie icing? If so, how easy was it and did you like it? I was browsing through ideas other than royal icing and found this on Country kitchen's website.

I know I'm probably an odd ball, but I don't really like the taste of RI.

I don't think I would care for the "snap" of chocolate on a cookie, but kids would probably love it. Give it a try!!!

I just made a batch of cookies and tried Alices Cookie Icing. It was really good.

The icing dried hard, but not rock solid like royal icing. (Like you I dont care for RI on cookies) The basic recipe had a good taste, but I substituted a teaspoon of vanilla to give it more punch and added some salt to counter the too sweet taste.
