a first b-day cake that I will make next month. Little girl whose room is decorated in lavender, green, and daises. Click on this link to see the theme of the party:

Mother (not picky) suggested petit fours so that each child can have a bite-sized piece of cake and a smash cake for the b-day girl.
What about petit fours cut with a flower cookie cutter (small) and filled with twinkie filling and dip in candy melts, then decorated on top like you would a cookie(flowers) and maybe bees and butterflies out of fondant(3-D)?

Smash cake would be the number 1 in lavender and green, with royal daises and fondant bees and butterflies.[/url]http://www.partycity.com/cgi-bin/parties/show.cgi?thepartytype=1004&parties=Special%20Girl%20First

Looks like tons of design possibilities from that link. Have you considered cupcakes or mini cupcakes? They are sooo kid friendly! and you can get creative with them too. I like your idea of the twinkie filling. YUM. The fondant butterflies sounds adorable.
