I'm doing a wedding cake in october.. This will be my second ever! So my question is this she wanted it to serve 150. Wants square pans but she wants the layers turned so they are not all straight. what pans would you use???

I just finished my second wedding cake, too! If you look at the octagon shaped cake in my photos, that was figured to feed 150 as well. I used a 14",12",10", and 6" and it worked out just fine. In fact, there were only about 10 slices of cake left uneaten.

14,12,6 will be feed 170 if you don't count the top tier. You can check wiltons website and it has the serving chart and how many servings for the different shapes. icon_biggrin.gif I can't wait to see pictures... thumbs_up.gif

The Wilton cutting guide is here: http://www.wilton.com/wedding/cakeinfo/cuttingguide.cfm

According to that,

an 8" square is 32 servings
a 10" square is 50 servings
a 12" square is 72 servings

So, if you did 4 tiers - 6", 8", 10" and 12", you should have 154 servings plus the 6 inch cake for the bride and groom to save.

I hope that helps.
