How Do I Get Black Candy Melts?

Can someone tell me how do I get the color black for candy melts?

You really need to start out with the chocolate or brown ones. I have used powdered black (CK makes it) and it works pretty good. But starting out with the brown ones is your best bet. If you don't have brown, use some brown coloring first, then add black.

Thanks, but the problem is I don't have the black candy coloring....I do have the dark chocolates though........please help!

I read on here that you can add shortening to it and use regular colors. I have not tried that myself. I'd use the dark chocolate, some shortening and black gel color. Try just a bit and see if it works.

I've used regular black and shortening and it works fine, start with your dark chocolate so you don't have to use as much coloring.
