This is the latest cookie buzz in Japan per Fox News. Sorry I don't know how to make the link shorter. If it doesn't work, you can find the video on the foxnews.com site.

I thought the idea is to keep bugs out of cookies/cakes...that is pretty gross and I would have to be starving to eat one of those...yikes!!!!
I hope the trend doesn't catch on here!!!!

That was gross, but neat at the same time. They do say that insects are a delicacy.

Eeeeewwwww - but hey, good way to get some cheap protein. I lived in Japan for a year - I believe it. To each country their own - I can respect our differences, just don't expect me to eat one!

GAH!! What are they thinking??? Just becase you CAN eat something, doesn't mean you should! I'm telling you, it would take a buttload of cash to get me to eat something like that, and I'd need a bucket right next to me! icon_razz.gif Thanks for sharing... I think! icon_lol.gif

Gross!!! When I was in high school I took a "You in Nature" class. The class focused on how to survive in nature with basically nothing. One lesson was on foods you could eat. We ate pigeon, dandelion fritters (yummy, by the way), various plants and a 'special' treat our teacher made us. We had to eat some of it before he told us what it was. Well....it was earthworm cookies!!!! YUCK!! It was just a peanut butter cookie, so it was good until you felt the texture of the worm in your mouth. I still don't understand the relationship with surviving in nature and cookies. I have never been lost in a woods that was equipped with an oven! icon_smile.gif
