cake pox (kayk pox) n. -- common affliction of cake decorators and artisans. Easily identified by random dots of color appearing upon the skin and also in hair. Can vary in size from small dots to large splotches. Has been know to infect family members, including even pets (curious cats and noisy dogs most susceptible) According to some sources, it is probably some kind of mold as it can also grow on clothes, floors, windows, walls, cabinets and appliances. Easily cured by application soap and water, although certain colors may linger for days.

Not to be confused with cakezema, which can be identified by crusty patches of dried on cake batter, usually on wrists, but may also be found on other areas of skin generally left uncovered while baking.
