can someone give me some pointers on how to get a good chocolate icing? I am wanting to take my already made buttercream icing and turn it into a chocolate icing - what do I add and how much? Please give me some advice. thanks everyone
I'm very fond of Wilton's buttercream recipe:
http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/icing/chocobutter.cfm
Melted unsweetened chocolate squares give it a very rich taste, especially if you use a good chocolate like ghiradelli. Mmmmmm.
if I already have my white buttercream made - can I just add in the melted chocolate? and if so, how much do I add? like if I had 1 cup of icing, how much choc. should go into that? thanks
HI I like MY EASY CHOC BUTTERCREAM FROSTING. Right here on CC !
I always make my chocolate icing with a buttercream base and then add cocoa powder to taste and until I get the color I want.

This is my favorite-won the Hershey Cocoa contest at a local fair with it:

It's basically buttercream but you add the cocoa at the beginning before you start adding sugar.
