Since the festive time of year is approaching... i was wondering is it safe to cover cake boards in wrapping paper? I am hoping to match cake board to cakes for christmas etc. will this work or will i poison people?

I would suggest covering the wrapping paper with contact paper to keep it safe.

Technicall, contact paper is not "food safe". But I use it all the time and have not had a problem with it.

There are a lot of threads about it but I feel comfortable using it. I use patterned scrapbook paper all the time to cover my cakeboards to match my cakes then cover that with clear contact paper - love it.

You can cover it in cello wrap. It is food safe and can be clear or have designs, patterns or colors on it. Do a google search for "cello wrap"

Here's one place I just found...even had christmas cello wrap: http://www.nashvillewraps.com/ShowType.ww?Class=040&adword=g_cellorolls
