I am going to go to our decorating store today and want to stock up on some things. Since really getting into this(Thank you Cake Central!!), my tips and colors and everything has grown from a little corner to a whole shelf. ANd I only do this for my son's preschool and home stuff.

But I have the itch to go get some "stuff".

well, if you are doing kids cakes (especially boys), you will go through LOTS of red (not taste red or powdered red are best) and black and royal blue and basically all the primary colors. Just remember that gels dry out and while you can reconstitute them, you don't want have too many around. I always have two reds and two black just because you need so much of it to make the colors true.

Black and red are standards, and they take a lot most times. However, I use a LOT of brown as a base since I mix my colors. Moss green, too, since I was told about it. The only green I like!
