just wondering how many of you actually eat the fondant on a cake? i make mmf...and am trying to decide what would taste good with it. i love whipped milk chocolate ganache. i want to make a pretty cake, but have it be appealing to the taste buds too= as well as hold up. any flavor combination ideas keeping in mind to eat the mmf too? thanks!

You know I always flavor my fondant to suit the cake I am doing. For instance I made a chocolate cake with chocolate rasp. icing and flavored my fondant rasp. Another I made a lemon cake so I flavored my fondant with lemon. I think with the MMF you can add almost any flavor to it and it works well. I am going to try mint as the holidays approach. I get a great response to the flavors and how it compliments the cake, even from people who usuallly dont' eat fondant. Ok long winded but hope it helps, at least a little.

I usually add flavours to my butter icing, then just put the MMF on top.
I've tried adding flavours to it but I think its better in the bc.
If I want pink or purple MMF I use pink marshmellows.
MMF has its own flavour...

Yes I eat the fondant
