I came across this recipe and couldn't resist posting - since we have cake balls and rum balls, etc.

Jell-O Balls
1 small package flaked coconut
1 large box strawberry Jell-O (or flavor desired)
2 cups finely chopped nuts
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Set aside 1/4 cup coconut. Combine remaining coconut and remaining ingredients. Form into walnut size balls and roll in coconut.

How about a cookie ball? I found a recipe for Oreo cookie bites:

1 pkg. Oreo cookies
1 8oz. pkg. cream cheese

Crush all oreos until real fine. Save out 1/2 cup for sprinkling on them after coated with chocolate. Mix crushed cookies with cream cheese. (It didn't call for anything else but I put a t. of almond in the mixture and a t. of the vanilla/carmel creamer (dry). Make into balls the size of walnuts -- let freeze and then coat with chocolate (I used the new Wilton candy melter)I dipped them into the chocolate using a toothpick, then stuck them on a styrofoam cup (upside down) to set. Sprinkle the extra crushed cookies on them before dry.

These are so good!!!

I used to have that Jello Ball recipe in a little Jello recipe book I lost, I think it was from the 1950s. There was also a recipe to make strawberries in the same pamphlet...

No, I don't think so, I don't remember that you were supposed to dip them in chocolate. I THINK that they were rolled in red sugar? or something. I remember the picture showed them red...
The rest of the recipe sounds about right though. icon_smile.gif
Isn't this FUN !?! icon_biggrin.gif
