I think I do, and possibly long-term too. I remember getting so upset with my own mom for not remembering stuff, and now I think I'm much worse! I was supposed to stop in at a friends house to pick up some stuff on my way home from town yesterday. I called her when I left town, I was about 8 minutes away at that time. By the time I passed her house, I was on the phone with my brother and stopping never even entered my mind! It would be one thing if this was a single event--however, I find myself doing this often--and what if I forget to make a cake or deliver one!!! Oh my gosh, what the hell is wrong with me?--I think I need to
get away for awhile--thank goodness I'm going to NE this weekend to visit my daughter at college! I need a vacation........where no thinking is
involved--I'll probably miss Lincoln and end up driving to somewhere in
South Dakota!!! Is this Alzheimer's? Is this menopause? Is this all those
drunken weekends, and occasional week nights in college finally coming back to bite me in the butt? Have I been sucking on lead-laced toys? Is the aspartame residue finally taking over!!!!!!! EGADS!!!! Please tell me that someone, anyone else is a bit lacking in the memory department!!!

My memory is shot, too! Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind. I think that my memory loss is due to lack of sleep. I stopped sleeping in October of 2002 and haven't slept more than an hour or two consecutively. Could be any of the reasons that you gave, though! I am guilty of all of them, and Alzheimers runs in my family.

It's age, it's lifestyle, it's being too busy, it's being a mom.

We all do it.

Although some things do affect it. I have an underactive thyroid .... it's practically shut down. (So I am one of those fat women who can HONESTLY say it's because I have an underactive thyroid!) icon_lol.gif

This causes lack of energy, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, oversensitivity to cold and other things. The medication has a side effect of "slight" memory loss. (So I'm screwed either way.)

Although, there IS a technical name for it...."CRS"

Translation: Can't Remember $hit!!

I suffer from it....I think......

I've also found out that unlike MOST people think your memory is NOT the first to go...it's the second....the FIRST is your sanity!! (at least in my case!!) icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

All kidding aside though, you probably just have too much on your mind, try not to worry so much about it.

I'm sorry, what was the question?

LOL! Sorry, couldn't resist!! That happens to me quite often. I think it stems from the fact that i have too much stinkin' stuff to do! Last year when I'd take my daughter to preschool, I'd have a form or something to take in. When we'd get there, even though I had been repeating, "grab the form, grab the form," in my head, I'd *still* forget to take it in!

I would forget my head,if it wasn't screwed on !!!
I think my terrible memory stems from my pregnancies ( babies suck the oxygen from your brain, don't you know ?! icon_lol.gif )

I forget things all the time. Have you ever been talking, and forgot the very next word you were going to say? icon_lol.gif I have. I chalk it up to years of not getting enough rest.

My mother is 86 and forgets everything within five minutes or less. I am very patient with her and answer every question as if I'm telling her for the first time ... I NEVER say, "Ma, I already told you ...." I have some memory loss here and there and I'm concerned that I'm going to be even worse than she is!
