greetings to any who read this... 
a few weeks ago, I mentioned that I'd be doing my own wedding cake... well, the day's here!!! I'm starting the baking today, and decorating tomorrow!!!
Just wanted to ask for good juju to be sent my way, that it all gets done in time, and it's as pretty in real life as it is in my head...
On a side note, my sweetie picked out the cake topper. We had one already picked out and bought, but it was a tiny one. The one we have now made him make a very non-masculine sound of cuteness, and he looked at me with very wide, pleading eyes and said, "Can we have this one??? Would this mess up the design???"
I mean... come on! What woman could POSSIBLY say no, when a man asks for a CAKE TOPPER that sweetly???
Really... am I the luckiest woman in the world right now, or what???

The best thing I ever did was marry my best friend. that was 16 yrs ago, he is still my best friend. I wish you both a life time of happiness and a life full of fun. God bless you both on your new life together.

He's the best thing that ever happened to me, and after 11 years, we're pretty sure this is gonna stick. -grin- So we're not nervous about getting married, either of us. We're both actually really looking forward to the next phase of our life.
It's the wedding itself that's giving us fits! LOL Gotta love family, huh? 
The cake will happen... hopefully it will happen well. Either way, it will be pretty enough, and it will be what we want, which is key.
I did have to promise all my friends that if I did the cake, I would NOT do anything else! LOL I'm a very crafty person, so giving up the chance to do the flower arrangements, decorations, favors, etc, was hard... but it took stress off them to make the deal, so I did it. I'm not sorry either! If I had to choose between having a different cake, or having all the other stuff, I'd rather have the cake. And only I can do that for me.
okay... back to baking... 7 layers down... only 23 to go! Woohoo... I'm smokin'...
Best Wishes for a successful cake and a lifetime of happiness! I married my best friend and still could not be happier! You are very brave to be making your cake. I wanted to but was talked out of it, we had too many out of state relatives staying with us and they would have just gotten in the way.

Congrats on your upcoming marriage. What a brave soul you are. We all can't wait to see the photos. I'm sure you will be able to look back on the photos in the future and proudly be able to say I made my own wedding cake. Not too many people can say that!
well, this cake is why I got into cake decorating back when I was a kid (12), and I always practiced with the intention of making this very cake for my wedding. So pretty much, the man and the cake are my dreams come true.
