My aunt was over, and she was helping out by doing some dishes. So she washed my cake leveler, my big one for sheet cakes. For some reason she, my mom and my grandma put big things that they just washed it the oven, like cookie sheets, pots and pans and apparently cake levelers. Well, my husband went to bake some rolls and didn't know it was in the oven since we never do that. All the plastic melted all over my oven and the blade was all deformed!!! Aaargh! That sucker was like $22!! Just thought I'd share in my sadness!! icon_cry.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I hate the smell of melted plastic. Not that I have ever melted anything in my dishwasher. icon_surprised.gif

that stinks...but I know what you mean...I dont store stuff in my microwave or my oven...but when at my Mom's I always have to check before I do anything! Her oven is always full of pans and such and her microwave is evidently her version of a breadbox!

what's w/ putting stuff in the oven??? Do you not have enough storage? I've never thought of that and I have a small kitchen.... but then when you have to use the oven you have to take everything out.... and then where do you put it???

I put some of my pans that I use alot to cook with in the oven. I dont put like my pots and stuff in there just like a cookie sheet or something that I use alot just so I dont have to go digging around in my cabinets. I would be very upset if someone cooked one of my things. My husband did that one time with a pot my mom put in there. It had plastic handles and they just melted right off.
