Does it exist?
I'm pretty new to this cake thing, and I am having a heck of a time finding a good buttercream recipe! Ideally, I'd rather use all butter as opposed to shortening (I don't know, it just grosses me out....) But I live somewhere hot and humid and need something that holds up. I also don't like frosting that is super sweet.

I'm one of those people who always just scrapes the frosting off and only eats the cake, so I never really paid attention to it before. However, now that I am baking for other people, I think that it is time to find something fabulous...
Does anyone have any suggestions, or am I seeking the impossible?
Thank you so much!

Have you tried one of the Meringue Buttercreams? A lot of people here at CC love them. There are two types, Italian MBC and Swiss MBC. Do a search and you'll find a lot of information and recipes.
